The Loeb Boathouse Central Park
Central Park is the perfect place for relaxation for the New Yorker. It’s a large green space in Manhattan and accommodates The Central Park Zoo, the reservoir, two skating rinks, the lake, the Belvedere castle, the carouse, the Met and not to forget the Boathouse restaurant! A great place for a nice lunch.
A beautiful day through the park will bring you to the lake, which is a romantic gateway from the city hustle and if you are in the mood you can rent a row boat or even take a gondola ride.
The boating experience on the lake became popular in the 1860’s, and naturally launched a need for a storage facility or a boathouse. The Boathouse restaurant is open from the middle of April to November and it has an outdoor bar and a cafe. It is extremely popular during summer months.
A real recommendation on the menu is the crab tartare:
After lunch you can sit down next to the campfire with a tea or coffee while looking at some old school pictures of the Boathouse, late 1800’s beginning of 1900’s…
