Smoking Hot – By Makeup Artist Cristina Vila

November 5, 2013 by Cristina Vila

Ok, so we’ve all had this moment when getting ready for a night out we reach for the black kohl, some dark eyeshadow, infinite layers of mascara and… done! Out the door!

But hey, who said all smokey eyes have to be black and dark brown?

You can create dramatic, glamour-eyes with any dark shade you can think of! From purple and blues to green and browns or red and oranges. You don’t even need to limit yourself to just one range of colours. Try different tones in the upper and lower eyelid, on the arcade bow, the inner corner… The possibilities are always infinite!

If you have trouble deciding which colours to use, eyeshadow palettes make it easy for you by combining tones that already work together. Go for Dior, Chanel and Lancôme if you want a very classic, perfectly harmonic selection of shades, or choose Yves Saint Laurent if you want to go for a more rock and roll feel.

But with party season coming up (Christmas is just around the corner) you may want to give your makeup a truly luxurious finish. Try adding a touch of gloss on top, some gliter or shimmering powder, false eyelashes, paillettes and crystals… You’ll catch all looks with your enigmatic eyes and you’ll be the star of the party.
