Restaurant Theatriz – An Extraordinary Experience

December 21, 2013 by Jantine

One of the things that you just have to do is go and see the restaurant “Teatriz” in Madrid. Not only is it situated in a part that is touristically seen as one of the places to be, but it is also situated in one of Madrid’s greatest shopping areas.

If you want to work up an appetite you first go for a stroll around Parc Retiro. The perfect place for a tarot reading or a glimpse of peace in this oh so crowded city. In addition to this park are all the tourist sites that you can find to your heart’s delight. Any tourist-guide to Madrid will lead you to them, but let me give you a hint: Museo del Prado, Botanical Gardens, Museo de Artes Decorativas, Musea Thyssen Bornemiza and there’s also the Museo Naval.

If after all this historical and modern beauty your are sick and tired of looking at other peoples display and want start working on yourself, do what we are best at: shopping! Do what I did and start walking to Teatriz along the Calle de Claudio Coello, where you can find anything from Etro to Louboutin, from United Nude to all kinds of nice Spanish designers.

I think that after all that, you are ready for something extraordinary. Teatriz is an old theater made into a restaurant designed by the man himself “Philip Starck” and it looks like a million dollars; the service is extremely good, and the prices are relatively low. Aren’t these the ultimate ingredients to care for your luxurious inner self? I personally can recommend the Mediterranean corners: Ravioli with Scampi – the taste was closer to heaven that ravioli will ever come. If you feel more like Japanese, a nice sandwich or any other kind of tapas that exist on the planet you can find them other parts of the old theater – so sit down and enjoy the ride.

Don’t forget to make a pit stop at the toilets as this place definitely is going on my “The nicest places to pee around the globe list”, a status that I don’t give away very easily I might add!

Now you have been inspired by all that “design” you might want to stop by Habitat and Zara home that are just around the corner. A perfect end to a perfect day!
