Nationality: Slovenian

Milestones: Working for Balmain, J. Galliano, Prada, Valentino…

Current location: Amsterdam

Tell us about your career as a model. How did you get started?
I officially started at 15 in my home country of Slovenia. I was discovered in a shopping mall and a year later I already moved to Milan.

When did you first sign with an agency and what was that like?
I first signed with an agency at 15, not knowing just how much my life will change. Of course, my initial feeling was “how amazing”, but as any great opportunity arises, there comes the responsibility of “great sizes”.

What is one of your favorite photographs from your career so far? Who shot it?
One of my absolute favorites is a polaroid of me, shot by the amazing Ferry Van Der Nat, mostly known as Mr. Polaroid…The photographer told me he was originally inspired by an Andy Warhol box of polaroids that were found after the artist’s death..and the pictures were extremely raw and intimate.

What is your best model experience ever?
One of my best experiences was seeing myself on a billboard in the center of Milan. I shoot a campaign with a short video/commercial and that was being played for everyone to see ?.

What are the main challenges in modeling today?
I think one of the main challenges is sustainability. In this industry, everybody is on the look for something new, and with more and more faces every year its difficult to sustain yourself and create a long-lasting career.

What do you enjoy most of your profession?
Traveling and exploring cultures.

How would you describe a model life?
4 words: SURVIVOR-The Ultimate Challenge ?

Do you think models are able to find long lasting friendships within the industry today?
Absolutely, over the years I have met some of the best&kindest people.
Anej SosicWhat is your big model dream?
My big modeling “dream” is to keep doing what I’m doing..meaning that I keep experiencing life at its best and creating most unique memories for the “golden days”.

What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
Reading, writing, swimming…

Take us through a typical day in the life of Anej?
My most hectic days are usually during runway or print seasons. During those tornados od madness, I always wake up very early in hopes of getting a “frim grip on life”. I shave, jump into a shower and run to castings. Sometimes you can have up to 10 or even 12 castings a day..all in different locations of the city…and other times you can also have a job/photoshoot in between. So that is why time management is super important, but either way, a little thing called “life” always keeps things interesting to the very second of the day…

How do you keep your body in good shape?
My motto is; Do as much as you can, while you can! Hehe obviously not something Arnold Schwarzenegger would agree with, but it works for me….I try to “visit” the gym 5-6 times a week, but it doesn’t always happen.

During the days I work out, I always do one hour of weights (and abs) and one hour of cardio. And other days I swim or run.
Anej SosicWhat’s your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world is Bovec. It is the most beautiful small town located on the eastern slopes of (Julian) Alps. It holds a special place in my heart because my grandparents live there and I spend a big part of my childhood running through the forests and breeding through the rivers…

Give us a fun fact people might not know about you yet?
One of my  “unusual fun facts” it’s….I’m obsessed with old-school grocery shopping…in every country I go, I always look for the oldest grocery shop in the city. Some of those “discoveries” were close to a hundred years old…. Once in Milan, I found an American tomato can from World War II..and it was still good!! And I will never forget how in Paris I found “supposedly” the most Tender bread in the world…and Yeah it was amazing….

What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
It is definitely a great concept of bringing people together, and really creating a strong existence of the community. It is also very encouraging to see all the support models get for sharing their stories and work.

Hehehe as I always say; With One We are Excited, With Just A Few We Are United…

#modelPhilosophies101 ?

Do you have any model friend you would like to see presented on Modellist-ID?
Oh yeah, quite a few, especially Dutch…I think Netherlands has some of the best/most interesting faces out there.
