Kim Jaspers shares top locations in NY city after a sweet family vacation!
Before I start telling my stories about last week. I would like to show you this picture (see above). I was so excited to share this with all of you. I just received these pictures and this was one of the coolest shoot ever. Namely, the Drykorns SS15 Lookbook! I will share more pics really soon.
Hi Hi!! In case you want to know, I survived the Blizzard! Wasn’t that bad at all, just one day and night of heavy heavy snow. (But I had to do castings in that shitty weather, which was horrible ha-ha!) But, enough about the blizzard. I had the mostAMAZINGweek with my sister and mother. Kelly just graduated and she promised to visit me in New York. They both never been here before so I was so excited to show them the coolest spots in town and of course because I haven’t seen them already for 3 weeks!
They arrived on Thursday and I had some stuff to do but I directly went to the hotel to see them hihi. We drunk some delicious cocktails at the Royalton at fifth avenue and after we ate the best sushi ever.
My mother and Kelly where staying in a super cosy hotel and I couldn’t resist staying with them hihi.(I’m living in a model apartment which isn’t bad at all but I wanted to be with them every minute of the day ha-ha!)
We also went to Fifth Avenue, saw all the cool shops over there and walked all the way to Central Park. Fifth avenue is definitely something every one must see but I to be honest, after an whole morning at fifth avenue I wanted to go somewhere else. Mum and Kel agreed and we went to SOHO, most amazing place of Manhattan in my opinion. Someone advised me to go to The Butchers Daughter in Soho, so we went there to have lunch. Definitely an hotspot!!! The food is simply amazing, with all fresh and healthy ingredients, such a little sweet place. As most of you know, I LOVE Macaroons and so does Kelly ha-ha. So we decided to take a macaroon for dessert, yummy!! The green pistache is my personal favorite!
Of course we haven’t shopped in SOHO all week long, no we also did some cultural things! I really wanted to take mum and Kelly to the 9/11 memorial, so impressive! I’ve already been there two years ago but I still found it very heavy to see. Maybe also because of the weather, which was dark and grey. We also went to the Statue of Liberty with the ferry, which was cool. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that good so it was almost impossible to see the Manhattan skyline.(And it was VERY cold hihi!)We also went to almost every part of Manhattan. For example, we had a lovely breakfast at Two Hands in Little Italy, walked through China Town, saw the Financial District, The Upper East side (We really wanted to go there because of Gossip Girl ha-ha1), to Chelsea (and of course saw the Chelsea Market which was so amazing!) and the meatpacking district. Accidentally we ended up at a really nice restaurant,The Cook Shop! Unfortunately it was impossible to go to Brooklyn & Williamsburg, such a pity!! We planned to do that on Monday, but then the Blizzard came in!! So yes, as you can imagine we went to the most A-M-A-Z-I-N-G breakfast, lunch and diner spots!
And of course, I’ve to admit.. I also bought some new items hihi. I bought a really nice and warm sweater from & Other Stories and the most beautiful (and practical) bag ever. I was searching for a bag for such a long time. But it was very difficult because my portfolio needed to fit in the bag and I’m soooo happy that found one!! Coming back to the Blizzard for one second, Kelly and mum needed to stay a day longer in NYC because of the shitty weather.LUCKY ME!!We went to the Hyatt rooftop bar the last evening and the view was breathtaking. It was so super beautiful to see the sun go under at Times Square in my favorite city with my two favorite ladies in the whole world, just like a dream! At wednesday morning I needed to say goodbye to them and time for me to go back to business! Hope your week was wonderful just like mine, (Even though mine can not be beaten ha-ha!).Speak to you soon.
