Tell us about your career as model. How did you get started?

I had never thought about starting a model career, but since I had the height I decided to give it a shot. I contacted Elite Model Management in Copenhagen in 2008, and shortly after I got signed.

What’s going through your mind when you’re modeling in front of the camera?

When I’m in front of the camera I’m always focusing on giving the best I got. Sometimes the client want a specific mood for the photoshoot, and then it’s all about living myself into that mood and role.

What’s your favorite/least favorite thing about being a model?

I know it’s such a cliché, but I love to travel! I feel so blessed that I have the opportunity to experience so many beautiful countries, cultures and people. Sometimes I have to pinch myself in the arm when I am shooting at beautiful deserted locations, because often you would never get to experience these places just by yourself.

The downside of this is of course that I don’t get to see my family, friends and boyfriend that much. Furthermore the model life can sometimes get a bit lonely, so Skype is much appreciated! 🙂

Are there any other models in the industry that you look up to?

I must admit that I have a slightly girl crush on Candice Swanepoel. But who hasn’t?

How would you define your personal style?

Every time I’m out shopping with my friends they always point out feminine and elegant clothing items with the comment: “This is sooooo you!” And I guess they are right. My style is quit feminine and classy, but I also love to spice things up a bit with a raw leather jacket or some leather boots.

And what are some of the heroes of your wardrobe?

Speaking of leather jackets, I’m never letting go of my leather jacket from Inwear. Since I’m quit tall I never wear high heels, so I’ve dedicated my love to (expensive designer) bags. (Oops!) So my other hero of my wardrobe is definitely my new cross over bag from Chloe because it can make a boring outfit interesting.

Could you give us your best beauty and exercise tip(s)?

First of all: get enough sleep, wash your face twice a day and drink lots of water! But people often neglect the fact that beauty certainly also comes from within and of what you are eating. So when you are happy and eat healthy I think you appear more beautiful and glowing.
When it comes to exercise my best way to maintain a strong and toned body is to run and do Pilates. On days where I feel a bit unmotivated I always remember the quote: “When have you ever regretted a run? – never!”

What is the one beauty product you can’t live without?

I recently discovered Mario Badescu and thank God. I especially like the Enzyme Cleansing gel that keeps my skin free from impurities.
When it comes to makeup the Youngblood Mineral foundation has been a favorite for the last 6 years because it’s free from nasty stuff and it looks so natural on the skin.

What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?

Barcelona! I never get tired of this city and the atmosphere. I think the city has everything a great city should offer: delicious food and drinks, art, unique shops and a beach!

In the summertime I love to hang out at the beach or chilling at a local café.

What do you believe is the key to success for a model? What qualities does one need to succeed?

I think you come a long way with humbleness, a good attitude and being yourself! Even though the model life sometimes is hard work, then you should not forget how lucky and blessed you are to get to experience so much.

What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?

I think it’s a great platform if you are interested in beauty, fashion and health.
It’s a good way to get an insight in the fashion industry and read about other models and their personal experiences.
