Julian Piket

He’s super handsome, a great and successful model, and a lover of CapeTown. We’re talking about the Dutch Julian Piket.

Agencies: EvD Agency (Mother Agency) & many more in several countries
Current location: Amsterdam

Tell us about your career as a model. How did you get started?
I started 2 years ago when I graduated with my bachelor. I had friends that were modeling, so I thought I’ll give it a try after my study.

When did you first sign with an agency and what was that like?
In October 2015 I signed with my first Agency in Holland. It was very exciting because I didn’t know much about the business.

What is one of your favorite photographs from your career so far? Who shot it?
After 6 months I went 3 months on stay for an agency in Cape-Town, South- Africa. I did an Italian- fashion shoot there with a Vespa. These photos are my favorite so far.

What is your best model experience ever?
I did a photoshoot for Nescafé, also in Capetown. This was overall the best experience if you look at the vibe, location, photos and crew/cast.

What are the main challenges in modeling today?
My main challenges today is to sign with more agencies in other countries and especially out of Europe.

What do you enjoy most of your profession?
That I meet new people every day and that I can see lots of locations/places where I’ve never been yet.

How would you describe a model life?
Harder than it looks from the outside. I work on non-exclusive base so I can sign and work for whoever I want. This also means I have to work hard in my free time to get more jobs.

Do you think models are able to find long lasting friendships within the industry today?
This is definitely possible. I have several friends from my Capetown experience who I still see every month. They live in Amsterdam too, so that makes is more easy of course.

What is your big model dream?
To be on a big billboard at Times Square haha

What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
I love to meet up with friends and go to the park or to a festival. I also love to cook and workout.

Take us through a typical day in the life of Julian?
I wake up around 8:30 and the first thing I do is make coffee. Then I eat my oatmeal and go to the gym. After that, I go to my work or I work at home to reply my e-mails and stuff. Around 17:30 I stop working on the computer and go to the supermarket. As I said before I love to cook and to share that with my friends. So mostly a few friends come over to join me for dinner. I am vegan and I want my friends to see what kind of healthy tasty things I can make. We spend all evening together and sometimes around 21:00 I go to the gym once again or watch some television until 23:30 before I go to bed again.

How do you keep your body in good shape?
Well, I’m vegan so I mostly eat healthily. I also don’t drink that much alcohol anymore since I’m modeling. Next, to that, I go to the gym 5-10 a week and I play soccer with my old teammates so now and then.

What’s your favorite place in the world?

– Vegan
– Word plays all day long
– Left-handed
– Lived on a farm as a child
– Played soccer for more than 20 years
