Profession: Fashion Model, Co-Founder of Models Well Fed
Milestones: Walking in NYFW and MBFW
Current Location: Los Angeles
How did you start modeling?
At 16 I was scouted at a local mall in Fairfax, VA.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
The most memorable shoot was when I moved to NYC and booked my first campaign for Tommy Hilfiger. His designs truly emulate the American Spirit.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
I’m eager to connect with like-minded girls. It is so refreshing to have a site where models can get feedback from their peers, ask for insight on certain issues, or just meet new people in different cities.
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
Any man or women in the Armed Forces. The sacrifice they make for to us to live freely is admirable. I would love to meet any chef whose been awarded a Michelin star (or two or three) and hopefully be lucky enough to dine in their restaurant.
What’s your favorite book?
The Bible. Being a Christian, my faith is very important to me.
What’s your beauty regime?
My beauty regime is quite simple: I only use oils to wash my face and moisturize. Every morning I wash with jojoba oil and then moisturize with coconut oil and tea tree oil. I love when cosmetics have as few (natural) ingredients as possible and whose names I can actually pronounce. One other note, I ALWAYS wash my makeup off at night. This is probably the most important routine you can do for healthy skin.
And what is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
Chapstick! – gotta keep those lips hydrated.
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in (current location)?
I love hanging out in Larchmont Village. It’s basically one main street lined with coffee shops, bookstores, restaurants, boutique clothing stores, etc. The vibe takes me back to where I grew up and completely transports me out of the hustle and bustle of LA.
What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?
Being a lover of food, I found myself right at home in Italy. There’s probably no one place that I’d call “favorite” because there’s simply too many to choose from! From the beautiful island of Capri to the fashion capital of the world, Milan, there’s bound to be something appealing for everyone.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
Be patient. Be realistic. I always tell girls to keep their expectations in check. Honestly, a lot of people view the industry as a glamorous, money making, all-access type of lifestyle. It’s not. While “the glamorous lifestyle” does happen on occasion, for most working models it’s an exception to the norm. It’s a fun ride but it’s a hard one.
What are your plans for the future?
Whether it be in modeling, expanding my food blog, ModelsWellFed, or perhaps another field of interest, my goal is to always keep growing and learning as a person. Shorter-term, I’m going to be getting married this September. 🙂
