Profession: Fashion Model and Architect
Agencies: Unique One Prague (mother agency), Trend Barcelona, Perfect Model Lille,
Current location: Alicante, Spain
How did you start modeling?
I touched modeling very marginally in my teenage years. However, the real start came later when I was studying at the Faculty of Architecture and having a typical student life. I was missing something exciting. Something that would make my life different. So I sent couple of my pictures to my current mother agency in Prague and shortly after that I was traveling to my first modeling job in Hong Kong.
What does your career do for you?
I remember that when I started to travel I was very curious. I wanted to see all the modern architecture and sights of the places where I came to work. It was very inspirational for me and it helped me with my studies, because I was fortunate to see those big architectonic monuments with my own eyes. Every journey and every experience – no matter good or bad – has made me stronger. I have learned that whatever happens to you, you have to take the good from it with you and move forward. Thinking about the bad things and asking why they happened is a waste of energy and you need that energy to do important things for your future. I think that thanks to my modeling career my mind has become more open and clear. I know what my priorities are, but also see how much I still need to learn to understand this world better. I have met a lot of interesting people and it makes me happy that despite the distance between us we are able to stay friends. I also realized how lucky I am to have a loving family and a beautiful home where I can always return to. I am very grateful for the opportunities modeling has brought to my life.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
The one that brought the man I love into my life. It was close to Alicante in Spain… and now I live there.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
I see a big advantage in the possibility to write a review about the agencies by models that have been working for them. These experiences are very useful, especially for young models. They will be able to find the necessary information easily – that is just priceless.
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
I admire people who follow their dreams. I would like to meet Jonathan Ive, for example.
What’s your favorite book/film/music?
My favorite book is “Towards a New Architecture” written by Le Corbusier in 1923. This book is epic, Corbu is a visionary, the perfect example of “Less is More”. However, at present I am reading “Insanely Simple” by Ken Segall, and this book has a chance to become one of my favorites, as well.
There are many films and many genres I enjoy. I always look up reviews about a film before I watch it – to make sure I am not wasting my time. I love to watch Agatha Christie’s “Hercule Poirot”, I love “Top Gear” , all the James Bond movies, “Melancholia” by Lars von Trier or “La Antena” by Esteban Sapir and many others.
When talking about music, I fell in love with acid jazz. It is a combination of jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop. I am also enjoying classic jazz and I love Diana Krall. She is a jazz queen!
What’s your beauty regime?
I truly believe that real beauty starts from the inside and therefore a healthy lifestyle and skin care are crucial. I cleanse, tone and moisturize my skin twice a day. So my beauty regime is pretty basic. There are no “secrets” when it comes to beauty. The best thing that you can do to make yourself more attractive with minimum effort is just to smile and stop worrying about how you look.
And what is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
I really like Wella SP Repair hair mask. This mask is one of those things I always come back to, even if I try something else.
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in (current location)?
There are so many nice places in Alicante!! I like a lot the wine and tapas bar El Portal, or Isla Marina-the beach club with the fabulous views. My life however is not that much about hanging out the last time and I can enjoy the same or maybe even more a romantic evening at home, enjoy some wine or watch a movie with my beloved ones.
What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?
It is a combination of many things and feelings that make you love one place. I have enjoyed every city I was in, because I was lucky to meet good people. If I had to choose one, I would say that Barcelona is my most favorite. You can enjoy your stay there during the day as well as night, you can relax on the beach after your work or have a quick coffee on every corner. I like it for its amazing sunsets, warm weather and its unique architecture. It has many cool places to hang out, especially those at the beach. Few months ago I have discovered Rosa Negra, which has a unique vibe, and I love to be there with just a few close friends and enjoy excellent food and cocktails.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
My advice for those who really want to do this is: “Start! Do not wait, do not be afraid!” It is a wonderful job that will bring you many unforgettable experiences and if you do the things professionally it can be a long-term race. If I could give an advice to the parents of the young starting models it would be to support them and to help them to recognize the dark and bright sides of the modeling industry.
What are your plans for the future?
It took a lot of commitment and desire to become an architect. I am very grateful for everything I learnt because it gave me a specific point of view of all the things around me. And in combination with traveling as a model I feel strong and able to do anything creative that I want. The world of fashion is very close to the world of architecture and design and I think my next steps will follow in that direction.
