Swedish beauty Minna Bergman has just started her career as a model and tells us about her discovery, life and you should definitely check out the interesting facts about her.
Agencies: Nordic Model Agency, Wave Management
Milestones: Moving to Milan
Current location: Paris
Tell us about your career as a model. How did you get started?
In 2016 my friend Simon did a small photoshoot with me. A week later he used the pictures to apply for a job as a photographer at an agency. The agency saw me and liked me, and that is how I was scouted! Today, one year later, that agency is my mother agency and they helped me move to Milan this season.
When did you first sign with an agency and what was that like?
At age 18, one year ago. At that time I didn’t had any plans of being a model which can explain my lame reaction which was “hmm it might be a little fun”.
What is one of your favorite photographs from your career so far? Who shot it?
This one. It was before moving to Milan to have some material to bring there. The photographer is Karina Szuter, from the same city as I am. Even though I had basically no experience at that time, her photographer-skills made me perform in front of the camera to deliver some really good pics!
What is your best model experience ever?
I haven’t done much in my career yet, so I have to say: moving to Milan to try the real model life for the first time. I have collected such incredible experience there.
What are the main challenges in modeling today?
Hmm, it’s a lot of things but the main things I can come up with right now is that you always have to deliver what the client expect from you, no matter how your mood is that day. Another big challenge is to be away from friends and family.
What do you enjoy most of your profession?
To develop myself as a person. Travelling and working as a model has given me a lot of opportunities to be inspired by lovely people, but also struggle with hard situations and less pleasant people. What I noticed already after a couple of days living the model life is that your attitude and personality are 50 % of the job, if not more.
How would you describe a model life?
Exciting, hectic, very varied (except the days you work with e-commerce) and exhausting, but in general very fun!
Do you think models are able to find long lasting friendships within the industry today?
Yes of course! I’m sure I have.
What is your big model dream?
I haven’t defined it yet, but I know it’s big.
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
To hang out with my closest ones.
Take us through a typical day in the life of Minna?
It depends if I’m away working or living “the normal life” in Sweden. The model life includes a lot of work, castings and a LOT of people to meet and interact with. The “Sweden life” for me means that I hang out with my boyfriend and friends to do stupid things and adventures, especially in the summertime. I also love the days when I just stay at home to play music, paint and watch Netflix.
How do you keep your body in good shape?
I am trying to eat healthy food, and saving the sweets and chips for the weekend. I also do some small workout almost every day.
What’s your favorite place in the world?
I think I haven’t discovered it yet, but what I know so far it is my summerhouse at the Swedish west coast.
Give us 5 fun facts people might not know about you yet.
1. I have 7 siblings.
2. I played basketball for 8 years.
3. I learned to play the guitar when I was 7 years old.
4. Avril Lavigne was my big role model when I was a kid. I tried to be as badass like she was (is?).
5. Painting is also one of my hobbies, and it has been a big part of me as long as I can remember.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?

Do you have any model friend you would like to see presented on Modellist-ID?
