First off tell us how you were discovered and how your modeling career all started?
I was 12 years old living in Yorkshire. My father at the time worked for an electricity company which had accidentally cut of the power to a local dance/Modelling studio. My father went inside to explain and saw the owner they got talking about me and a week later my father took me in where I was then signed up. At the age of 15 years old I got my first big break with a 3 month contract working in Japan, unfortunately the day I flew out to Osaka there was a devastating earthquake which killed 6500 people. I was very lucky to not be injured. From there I flew home and started working in London on a daily live morning tv show for 1 year before I started modelling full time.

What are the main challenges in modeling today?
I think the main challenges now are not only competing with other models but now also with celebrities, reality stars etc as more and more are being used for magazine covers ad campaigns etc whereas when I first started modelling that wasn’t so common. I have been very lucky to have appeared on the covers of over 40 magazines worldwide it’s not very common anymore to have an unknown model on the cover.
Do you ever get shy in front of the camera?
Not when I am working I get into whatever role is expected of me, but most people are surprised how camera shy I can be in my normal daily life.
Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what’s your favorite city that you have visited?
I have been so incredibly lucky to travel all over the world if I had to choose one city it would have to be Sydney, Australia.

What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
I think it’s a great source of information for models, especially those just starting out in their careers. It will help with finding their way in this unpredictable business and it could prevent them getting stuck in certain situations. Modelling can be a lonely business so could also can help models to stay connected with each other. I wish this site existed when I started modeling.
