How were you discovered?
I was discovered at an open call at AMTI when I was 13 years old.
What does your career do for you?
Since I have started modeling, I have become more confident and perseverant. I have learned the importance of hard work and having a positive attitude. Just because you don’t book the job, it doesn’t mean that you aren’t a good model. Casting directors, agents and clients always have something specific in mind and you don’t always fit the requirements. It usually means there is something better coming your way that is perfect for you! My career has also allowed me to travel and meet some of the most wonderful and caring people in the world. I have learned a lot about myself through this journey.
Tell us a bit about your most memorable shoot?
I always enjoy shooting and every shoot is memorable to me. I have worked with so many talented people. But I have to say that I’ll never forget my first photoshoot with Helena-Alexis when I was 13 years old. I was so nervous but after only a few minutes we were laughing and having fun. Helena-Alexis made me feel so comfortable and it was a great experience that made me realize that modeling was something I really wanted to pursue.
How would you define your personal style?
I would describe my style as comfortable and edgy… and affordable!
And what are some of the heroes of your wardrobe?
I love vintage style clothing, so Value Village and thrift shops are my favorite places to shop.
Could you give us your best beauty and exercise tip(s)?
I don’t have a very rigorous exercise routine but I do try to work out at least 3 times a week. It is really important to drink a lot of water and walk to your destinations if the distance is reasonable. When it is possible take the stairs. As for beauty, it’s important to stay well hydrated. I also make sure to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night, if possible.
And what is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
Vaseline! It has so many purposes. I also like to use Neutrogena Rapid Clear Daily Cleansing Pads to prevent break outs.
Could you give us a 1-day food diary? What do you eat on a regular day?
I usually start my day with a big breakfast (cereal or toast with eggs and fruit). For lunch I enjoy eating salads or a sandwich. A typical dinner would include couscous or quinoa with mixed vegetables. It’s also important to snack throughout the day. My favorite snacks are pretzels and carrot sticks with hummus.
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in?
I live in Ottawa, Ontario. It’s a beautiful city. I enjoy hanging out in the market area (downtown) or at various parks. I live a 5 minutes walk away from Mooney’s Bay beach and it is a very peaceful place to be.
What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?
I was born in Montreal, Quebec. It’s one of my favorite cities. I really like to hangout downtown where all the urban boutiques are!
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
Modeling is hard work! It isn’t only about being pretty and taking nice pictures. You have to be very disciplined and determined. At the same time, it is so fulfilling and interesting. It has been an amazing journey.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
I think it will help us connect with other models and agents, and impact the model community in a positive way. There are so many preconceived notions about models and the modeling world that this allows us to show the world that we are regular people.
Any nice plans for the future?
Staying happy, positive and working hard! I also want to travel and see the world. Through modeling I have met so many wonderful, kind, and interesting models who come from all over the world (ex: Brazil, Germany, France, etc…) and it makes me want to visit all these places. Whether it is for modeling or simply for leisure!
