Hummus with Curry

My favorite vegan sandwich today is hummus. Hummus is very easy to make yourself, all you need is a kitchen machine.

This recipe is a bit different from the usual hummus, it contains a hint a little bit of curry. Curry adds some extra pit to the hummus and makes it a loaf of bread to crumble. I prefer to eat hummus on a sandwich with a few slices of cucumber and some coriander, but also with grilled vegetables it is very tasty.

Hummus is made from chickpeas, these legumes from South Africa are rich in protein, fiber, and antioxidants. Proteins are important for your muscles, fibers provide good stools, antioxidants counteract the aging process and protect your body from free radicals. Sufficient reasons, therefore, to choose more hummus for bread more often. Ideally, I use the organic chickpeas from a glass jar, these are a lot softer than chickpeas. This makes the hummus smoother.

Hummus with curry

(For a hummus dish)

250 grams of organic chickpeas (in glass jar)
1 lemon
2 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons tahin (sesampasta)
5 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon curry
Pair of cumin cumin
Pair of cayenne pepper
Pair of bell pepper powder
Pair of pinch of salt

Kitchen machine

1. Pour the chickpeas into a jar and rinse them with water.

2. Put all the ingredients in the kitchen machine and mix into a creamy whole. This takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on the power of your kitchen machine.

3. Try the hummus and add some extra salt or other herbs to taste.

4. Peel the hummus into a bowl and garnish with a spoon of olive oil and curry.

Tip: Use chickpeas in a glass jar, these are much softer than chickpeas in a can.
