Amsterdam Fashion Week: Couture Ensemble

January 13, 2016 by Chloe Haldane

Last night showed a classical array of whimsical haute couture creations by Dutch designer Monique Collignon at De la Mar Theatre for Amsterdam Fashion Week.

The busy nightlife area was a mass of well dressed individuals, a frenzy of photographers and many, many bottles of sparkling aperitif  last night as Monique Collignon’s haute couture collection graced the catwalk.

The models walked to the enchanting tunes of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.

This golden one shoulder dress was an eye catcher and the model added a twist of mysterious intrigue to the design with a unique walk down the runway.

This shorter design was perfect down to every last detail, a ruffled front with a longer back and a short sleeved sparkling bodice was a big hit!

My personal favorite of the collection was this elegant maxi and mesh pairing. A loose mesh shirt with embroidered collar and shoulder detailing and flowing pale pink maxi was a beautiful combination of graceful and sensual.

I got a lot of Japanese kimono vibes from this piece and love how the waist pinches in drawing more attention to the bell bottom sleeves.

Overall it was a lovely, very classy night at De la Mar Theatre.
