The Odeon Cafe off Bellevue, is a Zurich Institution. There’s scarcely a bar which has made history in the way the Odeon has. For decades, it was the haunt of international intellectuals. Exiled writers, painters, and musicians all found a second home at the Odeon. Klaus Mann, Benito Mussolini, Stefan Zweig, James Joyce, Albert Einstein, Lenin – the list is interminable. The café has a typical nouveau architecture with an extremely high ceiling, a large chandelier; a typical warmth and sophisticated ambience. You can sit there for hours, talk about all the world or just observe the people. They are a mixture of every age and class so that you can meet the pensioner as well as the businessman and the student. This bar also serves brunch and snacks throughout the day.
