Liu Wen became a huge national success after working with amazing magazine and fashion brands. This Chinese beauty is our Model of the Week!
Liu grew up in China as an only child in a hard working-class family. As a teen, her mother encouraged her to be professional, eat well and attend a modeling contest, which led to Liu’s discovering. She started modeling back in 2005 when she entered the New Silk Road World Model Contest. Although she did not win the competition, Liu soon began working full-time as a model, eventually becoming a national success story after working with fashion magazines like Haper’s Bazaar and Vogue. She also worked for almost all high fashion brands and became a real popularity all around the world.
What is very special is that in 2009, Liu became the first woman of Chinese descent to walk in Victoria’s Secret Fashion show. She also participated in the 2010-2012 shows and was very surprised she got chosen because most Victoria’s Secret models “have big boobs”. Back in 201, she returned again to the VS runway.
With 3,3 million followers she’s not only a star on the runway but also on social media platforms. The immensity of her audience led American Vogue to dub her as a leader in the digital movement, saying in their April 2014 issue that “Liu also has, by far, the biggest social-media audience of any model”.
We can go on and on about all the achievements of this supermodel but in short, some people are just made for the industry. Liu Wen is definitely one of them.
