How did you become a model?
As a birthday present for my mother, I organized a mother and daughter photo shoot and went to a professional photographer. This photographer asked me if I would be interested in model for her new website and portfolio. It was a nice and enjoyable experience. The photographer was very enthusiastic too and advised me to find a modeling agency. After many tips from friends and family, I searched on models.com for a suitable modeling agency. It’s ME model management (back then Dune agency) appealed to me. When I sent them some snapshots I was invited to their office for an interview. We had an instant click.

In your own eyes, what was the moment that your career really took off?
When I got a call from It’s ME model management (back then Dune Agency) to tell me they wanted to represent me. I couldn’t be happier. This was a dream come true. I realized that my career had started right at this moment.

What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
I still exactly remember how enthusiastic I was when my agency called during my lunch break to tell me that I was invited to travel to Paris. This was also the first time I could go abroad for modeling work. In the picturesque busy streets of Paris, they shot a look-book with me in it, for Lotte van Dijk. It truly felt wonderful to be able to have this experience.

Who’s your favorite photographer you’ve done a shoot with and why?
My favorite photographer until now is Jasper Rens van Es. He is a very laidback and creative person. He created a very special atmosphere during our photoshoot. Jasper Rens made me feel comfortable. The final pictures were astonishing, pure and powerful. The emotion has been transferred into the pictures.

Did you ever have a bad/crazy experience during your modeling career?
During my first shoot, they gave me a huge makeover. My long hair had to be put straight up. That took a lot of geisha wax and a hair straightener. After one-and-a-half-hour styling, not only my hair was burnt, but also my ear. The hair stylist accidentally trapped it between the straightener. A huge blister appeared on my ear. This was of course not so charming during the shoot.

Are you working fulltime as a model or do you also study/work next to it?
My study IBA (international business administration) at Tilburg University started on the first of September. I left my little town for this and moved to Tilburg. So, modeling is a part-time job for me now. But I would like to work fulltime as a model someday.

Please tell us a bit more about your modeling agency/agencies and what you like most about them.
When I started modeling my agency was called Dune agency, which was founded in 2010 by Marjolein. But since September 2017 Dune was renamed in It’s ME model management. What I found most enjoyable of my agency was that it is a small agency and therefore personal. I have a good relationship with my bookers, Marjolein and Erwin. They are the sweetest. The contact with the other models is really nice too. We often hang out together.

What’s your favorite place to hang-out in the Netherlands?
I love going to the gym. Here I meet new people and reconnect with my friends. But I also love being active and here I can lose my excess energy. Besides, it’s great to stay in shape especially if you love food like me.

Where is home for you and why?
Home is where the heart is. So, for me, home is where my parents are. Here I can have some rest and I always get spoiled.

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you want to go?
I would go to Australia because I truly find this a magnificent country. But mostly because I would like to visit my old friends and acquaintances. I lived here for more than a year because of my father’s job. It was then when I fell in love with this country. Doing a shoot surrounded by the beautiful nature of Australia is definitely on my bucket list.

Which five words would your friends use to describe you?
Spontaneous

Go-getter

What is your favorite healthy snack?
Definitely a Mango Smoothie.
