She took a little break from her modeling career, she is back! Gorgeous model Marijke de Bruin tells you about her life.

Tell us about your career as a model. How did you get started?
I was working at my Dad’s store and Thed Lenssen Photographer shopped there and he sent the owner of then Model Promotion to sign me on as a Model, I was 16 at that time…
When did you first sign with an agency and what was that like?
I signed on with Model Promotion in the year 1976 and started shooting right away for Libelle, Knip, Margriet, Avantgarde, L’Oreal, C & A, V & D many more, very overwhelming but enjoyed it!
Why did you take a break of modeling and what did you do during that time?
I took a break after 2 kids in the mid 90’s and decided to be a Mom…after child number 3, I did do a few modeling gigs but ended up in Real Estate and made that for the past 15 years my main focus & income.
What are your modeling plans for this year?
My plans were not made by me but by many clients and photographers, friends who kept pushing me…because of them I decided to jump back in at this age and am planning to go more international.
What is your best model experience ever?
I would say my days in Milan where I shot with a series of amazing photographers, and where I became well known as the first Hugo Boss girl which lifted my career to higher levels
What are the main challenges in modeling today?
I don’t feel that there are any challenges due to my age range. I feel good in my skin am very happy with who I am and where I am in life
What do you enjoy most of your profession?
Expressing yourself, feeling good about your age, enjoying the moments, the laughter, the end results of the shots.
How would you describe a model life?
Hectic at times, castings are not easy due to wait times, competition is huge, it’s not a fairy tale by all means, hard work, live out of a suitcase, off and on planes, trains all the time, overall I would not miss it for the world, great life experience.
Do you think models are able to find long lasting friendships within the industry today?
Hard to say, I did create long term friendships with several from my days
What is your big model dream?
At this stage in life, it’s a different idea, my answer is that I am hoping to continue with how I look and feel until time runs out…
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
Run, read up on spirituality, spend time with my favorite Charity/Children, catch up with friends, grab a bite to eat, laugh, relax, spend time on my paddleboard, beach…
Take us through a typical day in the life of Marijke?
Get up early, go to the beach, park, run 5 K grab a coffee, get dressed, used to run to my office, manage my Team, create Events, supervise Team, spreadsheets, run numbers, work till 7,8 PM and either go to an Event or run home, relax
How do you keep your body in good shape?
By running, stretching, yoga, paddle boarding, eating healthy
What’s your favorite place in the world?
I have yet to discover, runner-up so far is Belize

I’d say…funny, creative, pleasant, positive, car crazy lol
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
Since I am not too familiar with you all as of yet, but from what I see is that by promoting us models giving newbies a better vision before they start after reading many stories and interviews.
