Tell us about your career as model. How did you get started?
In November 2016 I went to an event with a friend of mine. The event is called Dutch Model Event. After walking on the catwalk, we both got a call back from NL Model Management. We had a conversation and shortly after I got signed with them.
When did you first sign with an agency and what was that like?
The conversation with NL Model Management took place on the 19th of November. I got signed on that day. I was very happy when they asked if I wanted to become model at NL Model Management.
What is one of your favorite photographs from your career so far? Who shot it?
My favorite photographs are taken by photographer Robin Sommers. Robin knows a lot about light and other aspects of photography. He also has a lot of great ideas and he is a very kind person.
Please tell us a bit more about your mother agency.
My mother agency NL Model Management was founded by Jacquelina and Melanie Norder in November 2016. Jacquelina has worked in the fashion industry for 30 years and was a model herself. Melanie currently works as an international high fashion model. This results in a lot of connections in The Netherlands and many other countries around the world. The agency coaches their models personally by organizing different workshops, like catwalk training, posing, healthy lifestyle etc. My mother agency believes that honesty and transparency can transform the industry.
What are the main challenges in modeling today?
The main challenge in modeling today is that you have to develop yourself. In the end, the goal is to work as a model internationally, and developing yourself. And I have now reached that point.
What do you enjoy most of your profession?
Not knowing what’s going to happen next is what I enjoy most of being a model. One day you’re shooting at a fancy studio or location, the other day you’re shooting outside in the cold.
How would you describe a model life?
I would describe a model life as busy and surprising/unexpected.
Do you think models are able to find long lasting friendships within the industry today?
I don’t think it’s harder to find long lasting friendships in this industry than other industries. You just have to come across a person.
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
When I’m not working I like to go to the gym. I also like shopping and spending time with my friends.
Take us through a typical day in the life of Bram
On a regular day I wake up at 7 in the morning and get ready for my internship at Sharp. The activities at my internship mainly consist of the activities of an account manager. When I get home from my internship I like to go to the gym.
How do you keep your body in good shape?
I keep my body in good shape by eating healthy and exercising as much as possible.
What’s your beauty regimen like? Any secrets?
I always make sure to take good care of my skin.
What’s your favorite place in the world?
I really like/love Paris. I think it’s a fascinating city and one of the best destinations for shopping.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
I think Modellist-ID can do a lot for the model community. Aspiring models can read how other models got started in the industry and they can find a lot of helpfull tips for their careers.
