Nationality: English, Italian and Welsh
Profession: Model and Actress
Milestones: Numerous Headmasters campaigns and Casio commercial. Even though editorials are often the worst paid jobs I always get a buzz from picking up a magazine and coming across myself in it
Current location: London
How did you start modeling?
I was scouted at Pineapple Dance Studios at the age of 13. I eventually stopped dancing to focus on modelling and acting.
What does your career do for you?
Modelling and acting give me the opportunity to travel and meet new and interesting people everyday. I realise that my full time job is most girls’ dream and I aim to keep it my reality for as long as possible.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
One of my favourite shoots was a recent campaign for Centre Parcs. I couldn’t quite believe I was being paid to lounge about in a spa for work.
The best jobs are always the campaigns for food and drink…lots of yummy freebies.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
I wish Modellist-ID had been about when I first started modelling. It is great to have such a sense of community. Modelling is a tough business to be in and it is hard to know who to trust so Modellist-ID acts as a safe environment among so many talented models without the element of competition being involved.
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
I would love to meet Blake Lively. I really admire her career. She has easily transitioned from a cult teen series into Indie films and blockbusters whilst managing to grace the cover of Vogue and become buddies with Karl Lagerfeld.
What’s your favorite book/film/music?
Books: It is a bit cliche but I do feel that The Secret has changed my perception of how to get what I want out of life. Oh and another favourite is Sinead Moriarty’s book “Mad About You”…I just happen to be on the cover
Film: My favourite film has to be Elf. I’m a Christmas elf at heart.
Music: Anything I can sing along to. I’m not that cool when it comes to music, Britney all the way.
What’s your beauty regime?
I believe in keeping my skincare as organic and natural as possible. Less is more. I wear as little make up as possible when I am not at work to give my skin a break.
And what is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
Balm Balm Rose Geranium Face Balm is my favourite all purpose go to product. You’ll always find a tube in my handbag. (www.balmbalm.com)
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in (current location)?
My favourite cities are New York and London. New York has such a buzz and an element of anything is possible yet London is my home and where my friends and family are based so I’m not sure I could ever leave permanently.
My favourite spots are Charlotte Street Hotel for cocktails and Princi for yummy Italian nibbles. My absolute favourite eatery is Santa Maria Pizzeria in Ealing. It takes me forty five minutes to get there but it is well worth the trip for the scrumptious Neapolitan pizza. I feel as if I’m with my Italian nanny in Naples…heaven.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?
My advice would be to not spend any money on test shoots with photographers that an agency hasn’t recommended.
There is an area in the modelling industry for everyone, all shapes and sizes so don’t be disheartened if one agency turns you down, just try and find your niche. There is no point in you being with an agency that can’t get you work for your market.
What are your plans for the future?
I have a lot of commercials under my belt but would really like the opportunity to work more in TV. Acting is my passion but I would never give up modelling as I get such a buzz from it.
I am also in talks for some exciting writing projects lined up so watch this space. (www.itsmegantaylor.co.uk)
