How did you start modeling?
I was asked for a photo shoot when I was 17 years old via a Dutch version of Facebook. After I posted the result of that shooting I got more and more responses and so I got in contact with my first agency.
Few years later, when I moved to Amsterdam, I was cycling through the city and suddenly a woman jumped on her bike and started chasing me… I was a bit confused and thought what does that woman want from me and I was speeding up. Then suddenly she was next to me and she said, while trying to catch some air, she was a model booker of Tony Jones model management and if I was interested in modeling.
What does your career do for you?
I’ve met a lot of inspiring persons, made friends and it opened doors for me into the music business.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
A photo shoot I’ll never forget would be the one for O’Neill, we flew to Cyprus for 8 days with a great crew, everything was taking care of and I had a shoot between the rocks at the beach but the sea was really wild and the rocks, well… really hard, so kind of dangerous but everything went well and we had a great photo.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
It’s great to read all the ins and outs, a perfect guide for models and I personally love the food tips. Great recipes if you can’t invent a good healthy meal by yourself.
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
There are several people I admire, for example Ian Somerhalder, a model, who found his way into becoming a great actor. Olly Murs and Justin Nozuka, great artists, love their music and please don’t laugh at me but would find it really interesting to meet Justin Bieber…Not because I’m a big fan of him, but I would like to know how he deals with everything that’s happening in his life as a teen-idol and what it would be like to be him for a day.
What’s your favorite book/film/music?
I loved the Harry Potter series nothing can beat that, films like “Limitless” I can really appreciate and my favorite music genre depends on the mood I’m in; listening to pop music on the road or going crazy at a techno party or enjoying sing and songs writers music at home etcetera.
What’s your beauty regime?
Living healthy is the key for me, I work out 3/4 times 2 hours a week, I eat healthy varied food and I’m using the Biotherm Men’s Skin Care line.
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in (current location)?
In Amsterdam I love to go to the Vondelpark, Tuschinski movie theater (beautiful old cinema in the middle of the city) Vapiano to eat, clubbing at studio 80, social club and a lot more.
What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out?
I lived one year in Berlin and I fell in love with that city. “Weekend” is great (club on the rooftop, in the summer big roof terrace and great music) and Vapiano again!
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
The most important thing is to promote yourself the best way possible. (Facebook/cards/website) Watch out for the “fake” agencies and photographers that don’t pay you, the best way is via a well known agency and don’t wait to long because there is a lot to learn and discover.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to grow as an artist and see where life takes me. Maybe next year you’ll see me in a movie or in 4 years I’m releasing my own album, I don’t know yet. But hopefully I can tell my story either way. And I want to go on with modeling as long as I can.
