How did you start modeling?

Well I started life out as a classical musician, but that profession didn’t pay the bills. So a photographer took me in to see a local agency in Sydney Australia and within weeks I was modeling in Japan making more money in a month that I’d normally make in a year. That transition from struggling artist to model was an amazing one. To all of a sudden be in the spotlight and covered in finery really shocked me. It shows the power of the industry to literally pick someone off the street and change their lives forever….Well I say forever because I’ve been lucky enough to keep modeling for nearly two decades, I think the industry these days is A LOT tougher and you have to be made of steel to keep going.

What does your career do for you?

Being a model can be a great job. It keeps you fit and healthy (lets ignore the heroin chic era here) You really have to be the best version of yourself you can possibly be. You travel to all corners of the globe.Plus the cast of characters you will meet is just fascinating.

What’s your most memorable shoot?

Well my latest shoot will be a cover I just did with my beautiful baby daughter Roxette. I was so proud I could burst.

What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?

Giving models a voice and bringing them together. Travelling as a model can be lonely but if you read up on all the interesting posts on Modellist-ID you can quickly find fun places to visit.

Who do you admire and would you like to meet?

Sir David Attenborough is Britain’s best-known natural history film-maker. His career as a naturalist and broadcaster has spanned nearly five decades and there are very few places on the globe that he has not visited. He has documented life on earth, and would be the MOST fascinating person to meet.

What’s your favorite book/film/music?

I just read INTO THIN AIR- Jon Krakauer. It’s been a long time since a book has effected me as much as this one has. I read it in two sittings and couldn’t put it down. It seriously changed my mind about human nature.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Work on your mind as well as work on your body. Your personality and winning attitude is more likely to book you work than being the most attractive.

What are your plans for the future?

I love to write, so I do a lot of that on my web page where you’ll find all sorts of fun stories like “What Do Models Really Eat?” and “How To Deal With Rejection” plus beauty tricks and tips and cool fashion labels that I find.
