Profession: Fashion model
Agencies: Mother agent – Que models, Viviens Sydney, Beyond Milan
Milestones: Won’t narrow this down, I think all we all should say our milestone is back at the very beginning when we were given this opportunity
Current location: Sydney
How did you first get into modeling? And how long have you been modeling?
I was on a greyhound bus in America travelling from Phoenix to LA, and I was pretty much sharing the bus with the whole of Compton. It’s easy to say I was singled out on that bus. However we all ended up bonding on the bus because some nasty creature destroyed the toilet and gassed out the whole bus. Now for some reason the replica of biggie smalls told me I should be a model during the smelliest 8 hours of my life, and for some reason THAT was what ended up making me send digis into an agency.
What does your career do for you?
It lets me be the rascal I am. It lets me see places I would have never seen or wanted to see and it allows me to meet endless amounts of people that have completely different stories to mine. But most importantly this career lets me learn and what we learn and how much we learn is unmeasurable.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
It was for a little Aussie brand Called Jamie Fame, and easiest way to say this is I just had a lot of fun. At the end of the day, there’s not much more you could really want I guess!
What are the pros of being a model?
The biggest pro is definitely being able to be yourself (if you’re not being yourself, please sort yourself out). This world is a hard place and with all the judgement and ignorance it doesn’t make being who you want to be any easier. #2 would be travel, my family is spread out all over the world and this makes seeing them much easier.
What’s the biggest misconception about the male modeling industry?
Being asked this question explains a lot on the unfortunate poor stereotype we have. I’ve heard everything from it makes us “feminine”, “you can’t eat that you’re a model” to “you’re just a model your brain doesn’t work properly”. Fair enough on the brain call it’s a little funny. The majority of male models I’ve met are all juggling modelling along with a career or some sort of university degree. And for me, I’ll be the best teacher you’ve ever seen!
What are your other passions outside of modeling?
FOOOOD, HOLLANDAISE SAUCE ! Absolutely love the outdoors, animals and adventures. I have a soft spot for music, art, skateboarding and working with kids is where my heart is at.
What do you do to stay in shape?
Haha, I shouldn’t even really be asked this question. Im terrible when it comes to this. All I can say is run around like you’re 10 again and eat your greens
What are the top five items every man should have in his pantry?
Think I’ll either break hearts or please souls on this one. A LOT OF NUTELLA, SWEET BEAUTIFUL SWEET POTATO, BANANAS, SOUR CREAM AND ONION PRINGLES, and a beautiful steak spice for the BIG JUICY STEAK your going to have for dinner. (Keep your fruit bowl full and fridge nice and packed)
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in (current location)?
Recently have been introduced to red leaf beach which I’ve pretty spent the whole past week at, Rushcutters bay, Churrburger, Mr. Crackles and the Dove and Olive. Sydney has some pretty groovy places!
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
Going somewhere new for the first time is always hard and slightly daunting. I feel MODELLIST-ID IS is a great way for us to help each other out, give the ins n outs about different cities, it keeps it easy for us when we do go somewhere new.
What is your advice to aspiring models?
Keep open ears and eyes everywhere you go. Take in what you learn, become passionate for what you do, always say hi and ask people how they’re doing, and enjoy your adventure. Stay modest. Say thank you
Any specific plans for the future?
I’ll let this take me where it does and whilst that happens, get my teaching degree. We will see what this adventure has for me!
