What is your/the general perception of models in the Indian society?
The Indian modeling industry is extremely competitive. Over time it has become a lot more professional. There are many beautiful models that have established themselves on the world map.
How are you connected to the fashion and modeling scene?
I anchor a luxury and lifestyle show called ‘ASPIRE’ where we feature many of the best designers and latest trends.
What is your view on the role that models play in the Bollywood/movie scene?
In India modeling is seen as a step up to Bollywood and while that may be true, there are also several successful first gen models that have stuck to modeling.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
I think it provides a great networking opportunity with models from around the world. In such a competitive environment, some additional grooming and style tips are always useful.
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
It would be great to meet more of the global designers. We recently had Louboutin and DVF in India and was great to get their ideas on the Indian market.
What’s your favorite book/film/music?
I am a great fan of Sonam Kalra and the Sufi gospel Project – which combines a variety of instruments and influences from around the world to create magical sounds
What do you do to stay in shape?
I do a mix of functional training, brisk walks and Kundalini yoga – which is a mix of meditation and stretches. This works for me as I need exercise more to stay healthy and toned than any excessive muscle building work. I complement that with a nutrition filled diet.

Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city with a great mix of people. I live in Bandra which is full of quaint coffee shops like Yoga House or Suzette. I love traveling and New York, Istanbul, Hong Kong are all on my list of favorites. There is so much to see in all these places. From Culture to Partying and of course shopping. The spice market in Istanbul, Shopping in the East Village or living it up in LKF.
Do you have any advise for those who want to get into where you are today?
Nothing really beats hard work. Just keep at it no matter how long it takes and how difficult it may seem. Remember to always keep a look out for opportunities that come your way.
What are your plans and dreams for the future?
There is a lot more to achieve – as they say ‘you’re never too old to set another goal or to live another dream’.
