The Odeon Cafe off Bellevue, is a Zurich Institution. There’s scarcely a bar which has made history in the way the Odeon has. For decades, it was the haunt of international intellectuals. Exiled writers, painters, and musicians all found a second home at the Odeon.
The Bäcker Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Zurich, and is a very tranquil location even though it is located near the city center. It is a favorite among locals and tourists for leisurely strolls across its grassy pathways, as well as picnics under its trees. If you’re lucky, you’ll arrive there in time for the concerts and other similar events usually held at the site.
The Swiss National Museum is considered to be one of the most important museums of cultural history not only in Europe, but in the world. The building itself was constructed in the form of a French Renaissance chateau. Inside, you will find exhibits chronicling prehistory, ancient times, and the Middle Ages, all the way to the 20th century.
Üetliberg is a forested mountain in the Albis Range of the Swiss plateau, and bounds the city of Zurich. You can reach it via a train ride from the Zürich Hauptbahnhof station. The journey lasts for about 20 minutes, and you must stop at the Üetliberg station.
A popular landmark in the city of Zurich is the Grossmünster. Literally translated as the “Great Minster,” it is a Romanesque church believed to have been commissioned by the legendary Charlemagne. Inside, you will be welcomed by its Swiss interior, decorated with dark wood and white plasterwork.

The Old Town is a very nice place to take a stroll (get a map as you can easily get lost). You will find small winding cobble-stone streets, beautiful buildings, lots of pretty little shops, plenty of restaurants and bars, with a variety of food to choose from, as well as the larger attractions of churches and the views over the Limmat river.
The spa lies a little bit outside of Zurich's main attractions in a mostly residential area, but easy to get to by car or public transportation. It's inside a renovated brewery. The best parts are the Irish-Roman Spa Ritual (reservations needed to include massage) and the rooftop pool with an amazing view of Zurich and the Alps in the distance.
Not every hotel in Zurich is out to prove how edgy and hip Switzerland can be — for those in the mood for some classic hospitality, one need look no further than the Alden Hotel Splugenschloss, a small all-suite property in a century-old heritage apartment house a few blocks from the Banhofstrasse.
