Everybody probably says you are crazy but you really have to visit Joe's Stonecrab! This place, established in 1913, is a landmark and it is said it serves about 1700 up to 1900 people a night! Try to reserve a table but if you don't succeed, go very early (around 6 o'clock) or very late (around 10.30). And of course...you have to order a large stone crab!
What better than to start the day with a nice breakfast, a newspaper and a view over Miami's fine beach? This is why you should go to the Newscafe. Opened in 1988 as a newsstand, bookstore and cafe, this place still hasn't lost its touch.
Big burgers, buckets of french fries, fried onion rings, long tables full of junkfood lovers...this is Big Pink! On Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, just a very short stroll from the beach, Big Pink is located. If you are really looking for a typical American place and your graving for a good burger or something other typical American...go there!
This charming boutique hotel is less famous than the Delano, Setai and most of the other luxury hotels in Miami Beach but definitely a highly recommended place to stay. The majority of the nice hotels are on Ocean Drive (directly at the beach), the Angels resort is just behind Ocean Drive on Washington Avenue, but still within a very short walking distance from the beach.
After a 40 million dollar overhaul, the Betsy hotel reopened in 2009. The colonial building is extremely elegant, there is a rooftop spa and solarium, a (not so big) swimming pool and a restaurant well-known for its BLT steak. The rooms are bright and charming.
