Award winning makeup artist, Kristina Gasperas, offers the best beauty advice – from keeping lashes curled to tricks for brightening your eyes, you too can enhance the most beautiful features of your face like a professional artist.
The most important thing for your skin to look amazing is not the amount of foundation you use but for it to radiate health from within. Eating avocados, drinking water mixed with lemon juice and using gentle skincare that does not upset your skin’s natural pH balance certainly helps. If you notice that you have a spot coming up then soak a facial cloth in chamomile tea, pop it in the freezer and when it gets cold apply it as a compress to the area, this will help to fight the inflammation. Cold chamomile tea-bags can also be used under the eyes to reduce under-eye puffiness.
Curling your eyelashes gives you a wide-awake look and effortlessly beautiful eyes. I recommend Shu Uemura eyelash curlers as these are some of the finest available. To keep your lashes curled all day pop some lash primer on, allow it to dry and then apply mascara. The curls will stay all day!
To grow your lashes longer use a lash growth serum such as RAPID available on-line or in Boots. It really works and strengthens your lashes.
To prevent dark circles under the eyes use salmon-shade concealers rather than beige. Pinky/peachy concealer tones will counteract the greyness under the eyes and freshen them up instantly.
For a nude makeup look the blusher and/or bronzer that you use for your cheeks can be applied softly along the creases of your eyes to discreetly enhance them for an effortlessly fresh day-time look. Also, dot some navy, grey or dark green pencil or shadow just between your lashes – you don’t need to worry about being precise – this will enhance your lash line and contrast beautifully with your eye colour.
To brighten your eyes use Bobbi Brown “Vanilla” Shadow Stick – pop a bit of shimmer in the middle of your eyelid and a touch on the inner corners of your eyes, then a sweep of bronzer through the crease and your eyes will look like they’ve had a really good night’s sleep even if you really didn’t get much at all!
Press moisturising or matt lipstick onto your lips with your finger for a flush of natural-looking lip colour. Pair up with sparkly eyeshadow with matt lips – or vice versa – for a super-cool and trendy look!
Remember – shimmery eyeshadow should only stay on the eyelid below the crease, anything into the crease and above should be a matt texture.
Mix foundation with your favourite moisturiser for winter months when the skin is drier, this also provides gentler, less noticeable cover. Great makeup is all about enhancing your best features without it being overwhelming.
Hope you have fun using these tips!
