Model Hotspot: Barrio Chino, Sydney

August 8, 2012 by Irene Lambers

Fashion model Irene Lambers: ‘For food and/or drinks I like to go to the many places around Woolloomooloo Wharf, they have a variety of different cuisines there. Barrio Chino (Kings Cross) has great food and cocktails.’

Evidently popular among trendy people, Barrio China, which is Spanish for China Town, is a great Taqueria and Tequileria located in the heart of Kings Cross. The restaurant is a big space, filled with communal tables and booths with an open kitchen. There’s a nice little bar where you can enjoy cocktails and snacks while you wait for your table and since they don’t take bookings for groups under ten people, this is a perfect solution. Watch out for all the delicious margaritas, tequilas and tequila cocktails though! The food at Barrio Chino is designed to share and is very fresh and truly Mexican. Highly recommended are the albondigas (pork and beef meatballs in tomato sauce), the tuna tostada, the barbecued corn and the corn chips with guacamole…yummy!
