‘Your playful messy hair suits you’ or ‘your hair always looks like you just got out of your bed’ is what people always comment describing my hair.
Yes these are compliments, and yes most of the time I agree, I like it, it suits me, the messy hair, especially because it’s my kind of thing to not brush my hair for days, or go to bed with a nice braid and keep this one in for days, getting messier and messier. Love it!
So Yes the messy hair suits me, however only on days my hair falls into this nice fluffy out of bed look. What I don’t like is the other stubborn character of my hair, waking up with an eighties looking hairstyle, containing an Afro fringe and the rest straight with thousand of knots hidden at the back of my neck. Gazing in the mirror it reminds me of a Cyndi Lauper video clip (Girls just wanna have fun). Still, even on these days I just put my hair back with some pins.
Maybe it‘s out of laziness, that I let my hair just be, yet mostly its because my hair is untamable and I have neither clue nor patience to deal with it. Sadly enough I never heard of a hair whisperer, who could provide some hair-behavior-boot camp…. I mean, 5 minutes brushing would be do-able, but blow-drying, straightening, product anti-frizz, product pro-shine, cream to detangle, little curl iron…. Nope, not for me.

Even as a fluffy hair lover, it still would be nice to have some days with pretty shiny detangled hair. So when during a late night dining with a friend, whom I travelled with through India, (so she knows), after discussing the bits and bobs of life, the hair-subject came across, I was all ears…
