IN LOVE WITH SHAKESPEARES BOOKSTORE IN PARIS- TIP BY MEMBER CHARON

In love in Shakespeare

After the Second World War George Withman was living and studying in Paris. During his studies he gained a large collection of books which he kept in his small hotel room on Boulevard St .Michel in Paris. The collection grew so large that he decided to use his room as a library and bookstore; this was the beginning of Shakespeare and Company which was officially opened in 1951 by the same George Withman!

Shakespeare and Company is now situated in the heart of Paris opposite of the Notre Dame and is a true institution for book lovers. Every inch of the store is literally filed with books what gives it a great vintage vibe. Time flies by when you´re visiting the store and you´re welcome to relax in the shop while reading one of their good books.

Shakespeare and Company was recommended by Modellist-ID’s model member Charon Cooijmans who lived in Paris for two years and always spent hours reading books there. You can read Charon’s entire interview here http://modellist-id.com/11112186/interview--fashion-model-charon-cooijmans.html.
