As you might have read in a previous article written by Yamuna Martens, eating breakfast is extremely important. You load up yourself with energy, put your metabolism into a higher gear and it will prevent your from overeating during the rest of the day.
A great breakfast includes a healthy balance of protein, fruit and whole grains. And do not worry, a healthy breakfast recipe can be quick, easy, and even better this can taste great!
Hereby a suggestion.
- Berries (in this recipe fresh strawberries are used but raspberries or blueberries are a good alternative)
- 1 Peach
- A hand full of walnuts (about 7)
- 2 Tablespoons of ground flaxseed (although flaxseed it’s not technically a grain, it has a similar vitamin and mineral profile to grains. Flaxseed is full of fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants)
Place some yoghurt into a bowl. Wash the berries, cut them into pieces and add them to the yoghurt. Peel the peach, also cut this into pieces and add this as well. Crush some walnuts on top of it all, together with the flaxseed.
