INTERVIEW – FASHION MODEL TERA FEBERWEE

Name:  Tera Feberwee

Nationality: Dutch

Profession: Fashion Model and I am doing Paramedical Studies

Agencies: De Boekers (I stopped all the other agencies abroad because of my kids I don’t want to travel too much, I only do direct bookings, this works perfect by the way…)

Milestones:

‘I won the Elite Model look competition in 2003, had to travel to Singapore for the International finals and became 21st of the 80th models that participated in the competition. After that I did some nice campaigns for van Gils, Schwarzkopf, Keune and Philips. I also did some nice fashion shows for great designers and some nice covers for example Avantgarde.’

Current location: Amsterdam

How did you start modeling?

It began with the Elite model look and after that I started working immediately.’

What does your career do for you?

‘It gives me a feeling of being free; work with so many different and interesting people.  It also made me mature at an early age, because I travelled alone most of the time and I had to make my own decisions. Sometimes this was difficult, but I learned so much from it. ‘

What’s your most memorable shoot?

‘ I fell through the attic floor in a farmers barn. The photographer could hold me just in time; it was very high so we were all really shaking. We continued the shoot on the ground floor!’

What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?

‘It can help you find the best places to eat, but it can also help you by finding a doctor or a house all over the world and it’s easy to find out whether there are more models in the same city as you are, so you can get in contact with them. It’s also great to read the stories by other models, this can always provide you with new information you might need in the future.’

What’s your favorite book/film/music?

‘Well I happen to have more than one favorite book and most books are related to psychology and books about "body language", those I need for my studies as well.

I loved watching Prison break (series) and Entourage but I don’t watch that much TV because I do not have time for this anymore.

I love jazz music!’

What’s your beauty regime?

‘I keep my make up very simple, just some mascara during the day, for a party I might bring on some eye shadow, but I believe less is more, I never use foundation or powder because I think it’s not really healthy for your skin and to keep ‘young’ I only use good skin cream and sun block. And also healthy food is really a must for great skin.’

What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in?

‘I like the Joffers and Loetje but I can be everywhere if the company is good! ‘

What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?

‘My favorite city is Amsterdam, I can’t really explain why. I love to travel but it always feels great to come ‘home’ in my favorite city Amsterdam.

I love to hang out in ‘het Amsterdamse bos’ It’s a forest close to the city, nice and quiet and not to many people.'

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

‘For sure! Get into the MODELLIST-ID COMMUNITY!!  That’s a great start; also ask other models, agencies, stylists etc. a lot of questions. It’s always good to hear what other people have to say and then follow your own instinct.’

What are your future plans?

‘Well I am working hard to get all the work for the Paramedical studies done, so I can start my own business and until then, I do what I do! '
