How did you start modeling?
“I got discovered while I was shopping with my mom in the HEMA (Dutch warehouse). When the woman asked me if I was a model I turned completely red.”
What does your career do for you?
“It’s a great way to travel all around the world, meet interesting people and I enjoy working with a team to create beautiful pictures.”
What’s your most memorable shoot?
“One of my first shoots was with Bruce Weber at the Keys in Miami. This was for Ralph Lauren’s bathing suits, I was so nervous. “
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
“The knowledge that you get provided on the site, helps you to enjoy your career more. If it comes to healthy restaurants, products to use or where to meet other models, everybody will get some use out of it!”
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
“Family Obama, I would love to talk with him, but also to his wife and children how they've experienced their life the last few years.”

What’s your beauty regime?
“I drink a lot of water, go to the gym 4 times a week and try to sleep as much as you can and most important, be happy!”
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in?
“ In NY I like to go to Lavo, for dinner and a drink in the club downstairs. I like to eat at Nobu or Bar Pitti. To relax I like to go to Central Park and rollerblade among the Westside highway.”
What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?
“ I like to go to Miami for a long weekend. It’s only a two and a half hour flight from NY and the weather is always great. The Fountain Blue is a great hotel, with a beautiful gym and Spa and great restaurants.”
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
“Make sure you don’t spend your own money on test shoots etc. If an agency believes in you they will advance you about the money.”
You have been supporting projects for the Red Cross under the name of `Yfke for kids` for years now, can you tell us a little bit more about this project, why the Red Cross and what we can do to support this project?
“As an ambassador for the Dutch Red Cross I try to help as much as I can. This year I made a charity bracelet together with TOV essentials. The money will go to Colombia where the Red Cross has health boats that help people in little villages to get aid. It’s too dangerous for the people to travel to the hospitals in the big cities because of the drugs war.”
What are your future plans?
“For now I still enjoy modeling, living in NY and travelling around the world. I’m always open for new experiences, so we’ll see what the future will bring!”
