INTERVIEW – FASHION MODEL MARIANNE ANTUMA
Name: Marianne Antuma
Nationality: Dutch
Profession: Model and focussing and learning about the sustainability of the world. ‘The earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth!’
Agencies: Linda Models Netherlands, MGM Models Hamburg, Java Model Management Munich, 5th Avenue Barcelona
Current location: The Netherlands
How did you start modeling?
“I started serious modeling when I was 20 years old. For some this is quite an old age to start a modeling career. For me it was the right time, I felt comfortable with myself and I was able to express that in the pictures and fashion shows. So I have to agree with the fact that once you feel confident with the person you are, you are able to shine! “
What does your career do for you?
“My career gives me positive energy! I am able to travel through Europe and sometimes a bit further. I meet people of different levels, influences and focus. This is enriching my life and values at the highest level. “
What’s your most memorable shoot?
“A memorable shoot was at Mallorca for a Dutch company called Gaastra Sportswear. I flew to Mallorca, was surrounded with bright white beach houses, amazing sailing yachts and rocks in the sea where we were allowed to jump the highest into the water for the best pictures! The cool sea breeze playing your hair, the warm sand teasing your feet gives an amazing feeling; a joy to capture. “

What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
“A perfect initiative to share and create new energy!”
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
“I like to meet new individuals with sparkling stories and experiences that inspire me for the future.”
What’s your favorite film?
“My favorite movies are the Planet Earth editions. I love watching the earth and it’s amazing creatures. “

What’s your beauty regime?
“First of all feel happy inside. Sometimes it’s hard, but try to focus on the positive things. That makes an amazing difference. If you do, your eyes will sparkle and your skin will shine. But of course some discipline is necessary. Do sports outside! The fresh breeze in Holland will give you instant energy. Go for a 60 minutes walk or go running for 30 minutes. Shape your body and thoughts with Pilates and Thai Chi.
Take the time to clean your skin before you go to sleep. The time you sleep is ‘repairing time’ for your skin. Also in the morning clean your skin because you need to remove the negative elements that showed up after your beauty sleep.
Also read about food. We live in a world that provides easy, quick and ‘healthy’ stuff in one package. Unfortunately this is not the truth. The beauty food you need is written in an easy book called: Beauty food, written by Jerry Goldberg and Chris Schreiber. I experienced the amazing difference in a few weeks.
Cosmetics: Face cleaning: Whipes- Camille from Yves Rocher. Cleansing Foam: Lancôme, Crème Mousse Confort, Face Cream: L’Occitane en Provence, Bio Organic water and essential oil.”

What are your favourite hang out spots in the city you live in?
“My current location is Holland, I love to go to the farmer markets once a week and buy a bunch of fresh ingredients and create my own healthy dishes of course combined with a glass of ecological wine. Don’t forget to enjoy life!”
What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?
"I travel a lot to Germany. Hamburg is an amazing city. I like the part called Altona because of the high level of creativity. The best soya- cappuccino you will find at Aurel in Altona (nice to sit outside).
And in Munich a small and lovely restaurant I know is Josefa, Westendstrasse 29, order the Holy Moly Hummus and you will dazzle in flavours. www.josefa.eu. Worth visiting while you are there!”
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
“Before you start be sure you are able to travel alone. You will travel alone in busses, trains and airplanes and you need to trust your own travel instinct. For sure you will meet other people along the way but sometimes they have different ideas of you travelling alone.
Be confident. You cannot provide the perfect pictures and shows if you are not confident with the person you are.”
What are your future plans?
“Experience the world a bit more and then settle down for a next step in my life. A proper job, located in one place with possibilities to travel. This job has a focus on sustainability, people, planet and profit. Also personal development is something I need in my future job. “
