INTERVIEW - FASHION MODEL SOLEIL HULSCHER
Nationality: Dutch
Profession: Fashion Model
Touché Models
Ford Models
Frankfurt, Germany: East West Models
Current location: New York
What's your most memorable shoot?
"Well the trip that I really enjoyed the most was a swimsuit shoot in Tullum, because I got to swim with Dolphins."
How did you start modelling?
"When I was 14 I was approached by a model scout in London and Italy, but I was really shy and my mom thought it would be best to finish my school. So eventually I started quite late, at the age of 20. People kept approaching me on the streets. I decided to send some pictures to Touché. And then I never left them!"
What does your career do for you?
"So many things, I don't know where to start!
It gives me the opportunity to travel the world and see amazing places, while working and meeting the most wonderful people. It enabled me to help other people and my family. And it just made me so much wiser and open minded."
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
"This site is great and unique!!! As a model you travel so much and have to figure out everything by yourself in a foreign country where you don't know anyone or anything. And I think it's a great way to help each other out as models, share experiences, give each other tips or it can be used as a medium to make new friends."
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
"Everyone with a great story and a beautiful heart inspires me."
What’s your favourite book/film?
"Favorite book: Het leven uit 1 dag (It's about a couple that fall in love in a world where you only live one day... it's so bitter and beautiful!!
Favourite Movie: Steeling Beauty"

What’s your beauty regime?
"I do Bikram Yoga and I try to eat healthy."
What are your favourite hang out spots in the city you live in?
"The Chelsea Market and Highline park, because you can grab some food from the market (Suzette's Creperie is really good!!) and then chill at the park. I love it.
And I like to get the best coffee at Eataly."
What is your favourite city and where do you like to hang out there?
"I think I stick to New York!
But I also love Cape Town... and their African Market in Longstreet."
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
"Don't take stuff to personal. Try to stay true to yourself. Don't forget to enjoy it to the fullest. And also try to use modeling as a tool to discover what your passions are."
What are your future plans?
"I would like to finish my study, either in journalism or art (not sure yet).I'm trying to set up a foundation with a friend (model) to educate children about racism and how to love themselves no matter what color, background or gender they are. And to embrace where they come from and how they look... because believe it or not, there is still racism and a wrong image, also in the black community itself. And I would like to still make lots and lots of trips (And do a good investment)."
